Open StudiosTwo of our neighbors (Mike Donkle, 2708 Craig Road & Mary Ann Haven, 2428 Marling Dr.) will be participating in the free 701 Center for Contemporary Art’s Columbia Open Studios April 2 – 3! Take a walk around the neighborhood while getting to know our very local artists a little better.

Open Studios is presented by the 701 Center for Contemporary Art. It’s an event where artists open their private studios to visitors to show off their work and how they perform their art. Columbia Open Studios is also having a preview party on Thursday March 31st at 701 Whaley. You can visit our neighbors and plan a full tour online at columbiaopenstudios.org, or grab a guide in the March 30 edition of Free Times.

summer-cookout-menuThe Druid Hills Neighborhood Association will be hosting a cookout to celebrate the 10th anniversary of the association. Join the crowd on Saturday, June 21, 3:30-7:00pm at the home of John and Ethel Davis (2652 Mills Dr).

Bring a lawn chair. There will be hot dogs, hamburgers and barbecue chicken ready at 5pm. Please bring a side dish or dessert.

And, there’s going to be a whole lot of fun including cornhole, tetherball, horseshoes, badminton. John and Ethel have also offered the use of the pool, but please note that there won’t be a lifeguard on duty, so you’ll have to swim at your own risk.

All current neighborhood residents and former residents are invited! See you there!
